    Don't buy it!
I agree with the other person...tech support is almost non-existant. These guys went on vacation over Christmas week and don't seem to be back yet. I did FINALLY get an e-mail giving me an 800 number to call (which isn't published on the site or in the software package...that # is 1-800-482-4567)...I finally spoke with a real peron who told me to e-mail her my info and she would take care of everything and e-mail me back. I'm still waiting...and waiting. At least my 3 day "free mebership" (the only way I could even see what the site offered) is still working almost 2 weeks later! Of course it doesn't allow you to download much. WARNING! Don't buy this software!

Beginning to wonder if I will ever get it to work.
The subscription comes with a serial number that is suppose to be your password to log in, but it doesn't work and I haven't had any luck getting through for tech support, via e-mail or phone. They do not have a designated phone number for tech support and the online tech support does not respond. I'm beginning to think it's some fly by night operation they are running. Wish me luck!

Although many people seem to have trouble with this I had already been using the site before and wanted to keep up with it so this was the cheapest way to go. I also had trouble using the number that was supposed to be the sign-on but I just got in touch with IMSI and they had me on and running in no time. It's a very helpful site.

Product doesn't live up to the hype
I bought this product based on what I thought were some good looking images on the box, but once I opened it... Yuck! If you want some really great clip art, best go to a site like Artzooks.com, where you can at least preview the images, buy and download only the images you need.

Watch out Mac G5 owners ....
I just got a Mac G5 with 2 GB of RAM and was looking forward to using this product. I would have to agree that from the book most of the clipart contained in this set is cartoonish, but my worst complaint is that I just couldn't install it. On install all you'll get is a window stating you don't have enough RAM and fail to continue.

Nova Development software support wasn't any help either. They were VERY familiar with the problem and the tech made it clear that a fix would NOT be coming out anytime in the near future. He immediately gave me the phone # to call and get a refund ... and I'll use it.

        Useful, but still lacking
I bought this book mainly hoping I could find good illustrations of a diverse selection of people. I find that most of those illustrations are too cartoonish for editorial use, and don't show much variety. The high resolution photos were of no use either as they are actually only "medium" resolution. They would be great for web usage but not for print. Also, I wasn't able to use the electronic image catalog and was unable to search the photographs effectively since the file names are not descriptive.
If you're looking for illustrations of things rather than people, then this is a good source. The vector images are well organized and the print catalog is easy to use. Overall, I'd say this is a good product, but I don't think it offers much more than the 525,000 or 600,000 image versions.

          Not great, just the best.
Of all the collections I have sampled, this is the one I chose to purchase, and in two years I haven't regretted it. Most of the art is useful, but even with a half million images, there are topics which are not covered in useful depth. I wish there was a greater emphasis on complex vector illustration, and that it was possible to search electronically; you really have to use the bulky catalog to find something.
Don't take this review as being too negative. If you are going to rely on a single collection, this is the one to get. The larger Art Explosion collections offer little more than extra variations on the images here, and most of the other publishers' mega-offerings are just junk.

Contemporary, updated collection beats out IMSI MasterClips
Finally, Nova Development has got it right, delivering an excellent antidote to the cheesy and outdated Art Explosion 250,000 collection. The Art Explosion 525,000 has been updated to reflect the more sophisticated aesthetic of the 1990s, with thousands more images in contemporary styles such as brushstroke and woodblock. In addition, Nova places no restrictions on the use of these images in commercial materials, unlike their nearest competitor, IMSI. This collection wins my vote.

            Clipart for the home publishers
Art Explosion 40,000 offers few enough images for you to find your target visual with relative ease yet enough diversity to satisy most general audience, small newsletter, flyers and menues. Even though this item is available with vastly more graphics (100000's) this one is recommended for the person who doesn't have time to browse so many looking for minute details but requires the fine professional look of visuals in the document. Great for the home publisher.

                Surprisingly Easy to Use
I'm fairly new to the computer world. I was hesitant about buying this software because I wasn't sure if I could figure out how to use it on my own. It turned out to be very easy to use. Finding the right clip art is made simple by consulting the index in the manual which is included. The manual shows illustrations of each graphic. Each graphic is also coded B/W or color. My only disappointment was in the packaging for the CD-ROMs. The portfolio provided only 9 storage slots for the 13 CD-ROMs. The other 4 fall out of the box every time I open it. Overall, it's a great value for the amount of clip art it contains.

This is great for all sorts of things
If you are thinking of getting this product you should. I use this all the time for reports for school. I use to have Coral Gallery but that didn't have as many pictures as this. Also Coral Gallery didn't work as well. This has a picture of almost every thing you might need a picture of. I think this is just as good as one with more graphics. It's also cheaper than the ones with alot more graphics.

                Appleworks 6.2.4 Office

Very good software, well, the best for me.
It is amazing software, really smart and pleasure to use. There are some things to improve to my taste, but overall it is definitely worth the money. In two hours of the actual using it appears by far more convenient that notorious MS Office. Extremely rich applications fulfilled by right tools. It is not overwhelmed with unneeded garbage but with smart and well organized things.
As one reviewer has mentioned it isn't Word. it is better. You don't have a filling that some one staying and breathing into your neck.
BTW, MS Word brought wrong habits and misleading conceptions, but if you know how to work , this one is much more productive tool.
All pieces well coordinated and inter working.
Very recommend. The interface a bit different and a few things to learn, but since you started to use it there is no way to back to MS Office. MS Office has more features in the same way as track has more horsepower, but will you drive it on vacation rather than coupe ?
One more thing to say, there is no any issues with MS Office compatibility. I converted many different documents and had no difficulties at all.

                  It's not Word.
Let me make one thing clear: AppleWorks is not Microsoft Word. It is not Microsoft Office. And it is not a substitute for Word or Office, just as a Honda Civic isn't a substitute for a Hummer. It is, however, much easier to use, much less intrusive, and much less expensive. If you need Microsoft Office's features, by all means buy a copy. If you need to exchange files with Office users, it's probably a good idea to buy Office. But If you need to get work done quickly and easily, grab a copy of AppleWorks. All the modules (Word processor, graphics, spreadsheet, and presentation) are seamlessly integrated. Screen clutter is minimal (though the toolbars could be smaller.) Basic (and I stress basic) compatibility with Word and Excel files is included. But its strongest point is its ability to stay out of your way: it doesn't try to reformat your work to suit it's own ends, or make grammatical decisions for you, and the on-line help is helpful, not intrusive.

Easy to use with many good features.
A great application. If you don't want to spend the extra money and get Office X then this is the application for you. It's very easy to use and has a lot of great features like templates and clip art plus, you can make your own templates and clip art. It has many features that Office X has except it doesn't have grammar check. That is the only draw back but half the time I never paid attention to it when using Office 2000 for windows so this isn't a big deal for me. I have converted many documents from Office 2000 to AppleWorks with no problems. I also use it for college and I have yet to feel the need to get Office X. Some other features it has are spell check, a word counter, and it can read back your documents to you!! Try it out. You won't be sorry! I use this application on an iBook running Mac OS X 10.2.4
