Textures Photo CD (Jewel Case)
Made by Corel
    Amazon base price: $12.99

A little too expensive; may be good for graphical novices
This is an unimpressive collection of textures made all the less satisfying by their repetition on other Corel products. If you have CorelDraw or Corel Galleries, you'll have a lot of these textures already. Also, the price is out of line with the rest of the single-subject Corel Photo CDs, making it even less of a buy.

Still, if you don't have many textures in your collection, this is a good enough and cheap enough way to beef up your supply. It's also a great way for graphical beginners to get ideas on how to make your own, so that you never have to buy a collection like this again.

Big Help, good buy - could improve
Suitcase is a good font management program wich is very stable under os 9. The newest version takes up 1/2 the memory and deals with more fonts. Font preievew and grouping is exceptionally simple and easy to use. Suitcase allows you to activate fonts on the fly without restart as well as create specific groups for suitcase to activate for respective applications. I personally have about 4000 fonts on my system and wouldn't even try to manage them without help. My only gripe is that the preview window doesn't give information about the font that is being previewed while previewing a whole suitcase or selected fonts or allow you to activate the font from the preview pane. Adding these two features would perfect the program's usability in my opinion.

                Stay with Suitcase 8!
Suitcase 8 is a great program. There is no way around that. If you deal with a large number of fonts in your day-to-day work, you need Suitcase 8.

Suitcase 9 is another matter all together. It is a poor excuse for an upgrade. It makes your life as difficult as is humanly possible by being "intuative" about what you want it to do. Unfortunately, it doesn't work and play well with networks. It makes your life a living hell with certain fonts. And, worst of all, it just won't open some fonts if it doesn't want to.

Our company "upgraded" to 9, and within days had really upgraded back to Suitcase 8. Suitcase 9 just doesn't work!

                Save your money... and frustration!

                  I have one.
I consider Suitcase to be an essential tool for a graphic designer. Especially one with numerous fonts -- such as myself. It's great and I can't live without it. I give it 5 stars, for its excellence in use, even though there are a few things I'd like to see diferent. Suitcase automatically opens up closed fonts in Quark XPress (they're owned by the same company) and my only complaint is I'd like to see that feature work with Illustrator and other programs.

Perfect Solution For Taking Control Of Your Fonts
This program is a must have if you are working with lots of fonts and can't seem to make heads or tails out of them. Font limits are a thing of the past and you can turn fonts on or off individualy. Awesome program.
