This cartridge with tank came with my printer when I purchased it and if I didn't know better (the box had never been opened and was tightly sealed) I would think that it had been used. It does not print up to 80 pages unless the pages are only partially full. In fact, it was empty by the time I got finished printing one three page letter and about another 5 or 6 pages from a web site. Ten or 12 pages is all I got before it was empty. I thought there was something wrong with my printer and didn't even realize, at first, that the the color was gone as I had never experienced this before. One will go broke buying ink tanks and cartridges for Canon's BJC80, 50 and other small, portable printers and they are expensive in themselves. I wish I'd never bought it as it's always, always out of ink and never available when I need it.

I have had many printers. Big Cannon printers, epson & Lexmark. The Cannon portable bjc-80 uses these tiny ink cartridges. They do not last long, but if you want all black ink, use the big cartridge, it is a better deal. All in all, this printer & cartridge are the best on the market. Lastly, it works in this small portable printer...and it's great everyday.

Ink tanks are pretty simple. They should work, not leak, start up immediately after not using the printer for awhile, and be easy to replace. This one does.

Bubblejets almost sell themselves these days, especially given improvements in cost and now size/weight. My Canon is great & take-anywhere for my laptop. However, unlike a laser printer, the amount of black ink you get to print will astound you once you realise how many catridges you're getting through. It is worse with a color printer, primarily (of course) because the black reservoir is so small (albeit bigger than the colors). So if you print lots of text and aren't fussy about color, get yourself another spare black ink tank like this and avoid disappointment!

Like the other reviewer from NY, we had exactly the same problem. The cartridge would not release the black ink,even though the ink tank was brand new.In fact we tried two different brand new ink tanks before concluding it was the cartridge that was defective. The other colors would print just fine. It did print a lot more than 10 times before it died. However,I would recommend to think again if you want to keep investing on cartridges with so many good printers at such low prices. Good luck to you!

I bought the printer with this cartridge and it never printed in black ink, only color. Apparently the ink cartridge is defective. I have to buy the entire cartridge including the ink tanks to correct the problem, but the ink tanks themselves are fine. I am unsure about the durability of the product since I have only printed maybe 10 pages until it stopped working completely. And I am a little afraid to buy another and experience the same problem again. I don't suggest buying it.
