Lost Memories
I gave my wife a Sureshot 85 for Christmas. The picture quality was fair. The subjects were ghostly white from a flash that was too strong. We took pictures of my daughters first ski lessons. The camera would not work with the lens fully extended. All pictures taken with the lens extended were blurred. The same thing happened at my daughters birthday party the following week. The pictures were blurred or undstinguishable at any setting when the zoom lens was used. I'm loking for a new camera. It won't be a Canon!

Good Camera
I really do like this camera. The zoom features are easy to use and the different flash settings are a big help. The only drawback? NO DATE STAMP! I ordered this even though another reviewer had said each time you change the battery you have to reset the date. There is no date function on it.

Otherwise it would be a five!

A Satisfied Customer Review
I brought this camera sometime in July/August 2000. I have been using this camera for more than 2 years now. I tested it first when I went to Disneyland, LA. The pictures were awesome. I even got some great pictures of the Fireworks at the Cindrella castle. This camera is a beautiful piece and the pictures come fantastic.

The features are great. The zoom in / zoom out button on the front are more ergonomic and easier to use than the other ( Olumpus ) camera''s. It has all the features you might need for your everyday picture needs. Panoramic view and the other some times used features are missing, but I never bothered for them too. Day and Night time pictures come fantastic. I had a SLR camera earlier and this camera gavis me sharp and nice pictures just like the SLR camera. Mine had a date feature which is also very very easy to set/change.

Batttery life is excellent.

In sumary, I got what i was looking for. Its an excellent camera and I am really happy with this piece.

I Got this camera one year ago. The film get's jammed almost every month. It broke On a big trip adn I had to buy disposable's the whole time adn they are awful. I was very dissapointed. This camera is not at all worth getting. Spend your money on something that will work, and last.

Takes wonderful close-ups and regular shots!
I'm not a "pro" at photo taking, but this camera makes it so much easier. I wanted a camera with lots of zoom, easy to use options, and great-looking shots. It has all of these qualities! I've taken really wonderful photos with this camera, and I would recommend it to anyone. (I've had it for 3 yrs.)
(The batteries are easy to find anywhere, too.)
One small problem I have encountered- the white lettering/symbols on the dial does tend to rub off, if you have sunscreen on your hands!

Love this little camera
Five years ago I was going to Italy on vacation and dreaded the thought of having my SLR around my neck the whole time, so I traded it for this Z115. Even after all this time, I'm still amazed at what good shots it takes! And I could never go back to a camera without a nice long zoom lens. I just wish the wide angle was a little wider. And since I'm old school, sometimes I wish I could play with depth of field by changing the aperture, but darn it's convenient to have such an automated, compact camera that has given me no trouble, just wonderful vacation pictures. And a built-in flash is a lifesaver too, esp. since with a little fiddling you can either keep it off or force it on for certain situations.

Great photographs, easy to use, no problems
I got my Z115 in August 1997 in preparation for a monthlong stay in Germany. The thought of lugging my old Minolta SR-T 101, a big and heavy 28-200 zoom, and a separate flash attachment really put me off. The Z115 proved to be a fine alternative, doing pretty much everything I needed it to do, and doing it easily and without much weight or bulk.

I do not use the many settings the Z115 offers, I pretty much stick with the "Auto" mode. I do play with the various flash settings (always on, always off, etc.)

I am frankly surprised (and disappointed) to hear of the reliability problems others have had. All I can say is that I have not had those problems with my use; the camera has worked flawlessly. It's now five years old and going strong. I will keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

Great pictures, good value - great dual focus lense
This is my second sure shot camera, I don't think there is a better compact camera for the money. Shot two roles so far, pictures are very good. Not as clear as my Nikon SLR but it is more veratile. Dual focus lense is not a problem with me, how many times do you need something between a 35mm and 80 mm shot? What the dual focus allows is a better quality lense and cheaper price. Clear shots and great color. Easy to use but not as compact as some others. If you need a cheap camera but don't want cheap looking pictures check it out. In fact probably as cheap as some disposables, but you won't throw this one away.

for the people who want to know a little bit more.
i was very surprised to read the negative reviews of this camera. in reading them i also realize these people didn't actually use the camera and judge it by the pictures. my husband and i are photographers and realize that all the extra perks and gadgets of a camera are not as important as the quality of a great shot. one of the best things about this camera is that it is not a zoom lens (it also does not advertise to be one) it is a dual lense which allows two settings instead of one but with a better quality lens. zoom cameras give you an in-between range and for that exact reason has a lower quality lens. we use this camera as a simple point and shoot to capture spur of the moment activities...view for yourself. we love this camera and i shopped all over for a dual lens instead of a zoom and this was the only one i could find.

Great, Easy to Use Camera, Great Quality pics
My first Canon is the origianl Sure Shot ($2 on ebay). It has dual lens of 28/48. This camera took the best quality pics!!!!!! (this was going from a Minolta zoom). So I decided to try this tele for a longer distance ($8.99 on ebay). Of course, great quality pics too!!! I also have a Pentax IQ zoom 160 (never ever had any pics turn out blurry till this camera)...still get better pics from my simple, tele Canons. Also have Canon Sure Shot zoom 105, again, still better quality pics then the Pentax, but not as good as the dual lens cameras.....
So, what I can figure, is the simplicity of these dual lens cameras leads to better quality pics. They dont offer as many photo modes as some of the others, but you will get better quality pics all of the time, not just some of the time. You cant go wrong with one of these.

No Zoom, No auto flash, BAD CAMERA
I felt cheated when I got my pictures from the one-hour photo shop. The pictures are bad. Images are not cleared. The flash light is not auto. I have to return it to spend more money to buy a better one. I hate this cheap camera.

Can't quite put my finger on it...
My roommate took this camera with her to Chicago. Many of the photos were not impressive, and some were flat out blurry. It was a dissapointment, and frustrating that four rolls of film were just not quite right. This camera will be added to the garage sale pile this summer. I'm looking for another point and shoot...

Not a bad item
The camera in general is not bad and in fact affordable, very useful features, but quality of pictures is not too exciting. Works just fine. Pictures made at night are not good.

Entry-level digital cameras still get a run 4 the money
If this review is still here 2 or 3 years from now you may laugh at it, as digital still-photo cameras are getting better all the time. Nevertheless, the Canon Snappy LX II is an unbelievable value for the money, and, as of this writing(Mar. 2002), there's NOTHING in this price range by way of "value" digital cameras(less than 60 bucks) that can touch a true 35 mm point-n-shoot camera for picture quality. With auto-loading and auto-rewinding, the Snappy LX II is practically idiot-proof, ideal for the person inclined to throw away the instruction booklet and then figure it out(but keep it to operate the timer). That it also has an auto-date feature is particularly impressive in this price range.
