Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing, but...
...I have yet to take a non-blurry closeup with these lenses. My closeups were better without this lens. Now, I do have an "older" digital camera - a Kodak DC210, but the Kodak web site says these lenses will work with this camera. I'm thinking maybe I'm just too much of a novice, and I'm obviously doing something wrong, but the instruction booklet certainly isn't any help. It's one of those "general" instruction booklets that cover multiple products. So, I would say that unless you're really up on use of lenses on digital cameras, pass these up.

    Special lenses for special work
I'm sorry someone had trouble with the lenses. Close-up lenses serve a VERY SPECIFIC use that most picture takers neither need nor know how to use. For more information, Kodak puts out publications that can show how to use them. For a photographer who wants to do special work they can do wonders (although more choices of powers would have been nice). However, if you want photos--not pictures, a tripod or other fixed hold, together with EXTREMELY careful focus is necessary for good results. I have been a photographer for 40+ yrs. and glory in the result the 4800 can give me with close-ups and a TOP graphics program. I was in the West for 5 weeks this fall and took over 800 shots on Indian reservations and national parks. I expect 100+ including close-ups to be good, and will be busy until summer working on them (With my Nikon and lab 20 yrs ago I'd be lucky to finish 20). This is when close-up lenses are ESSENTIAL for individual or combination work. If you want quick easy pictures than DON'T BUY THEM. Study first and then decide.

    Close up does require knowledge
These lenses do what similiar ones do for any camera. Kodak has books out that explain fully how and why to use them. With them you have a chance to do truly beautifully artistic work. However, very close and accurate focusing is VITAL to a clear picture, which require a tripod or other device to steady the camera. If you want to take only "distant" pictures (scenery and people) you probably have no need for them. BUT, remember the computer programs for editing allows your imagination full reign to use or combine pictures as I know from 40 years of slow, painful darkroom work. For more information see my note at the LITHIUM BATTERY SCREEN.

Kodak Transvue 80: Carousel Slide Tray
I have been using this tray from Kodak for the past 20 years. I have not found any faults with the tray. I use 2x2 slides which have been professionaly mounted. I have some slides which date back to 1955 and am still showing them.

    Wonderful camera!
I bought this camera over three years ago, and it never once failed me. It has several useful features, like portrait mode, red-eye reduction (though that's pretty standard in a camera nowadays, it seems), and the ability to take different sizes of pictures. I found the panoramic size to be especially nice. If you plan to take a lot of pictures at night, expect to receive clear, bright results with the camera's night mode. I took a picture in the pitch dark using night mode, and it looks as though the picture was taken in daylight! The self-timer and various flash modes are great, too. Moreover, the camera is very easy to use--once you read the manual, that is. However, one thing to keep in mind is that Advantix film is usually more expensive than regular 35 mm film.

A great camera for typical use
I've had my C700 for a month and I've been quite impressed with it. The viewfinder is great in that it lets you switch photo sizes (one of the features of APS) and it automatically updates itself you see exactly what you're taking a picture of. It also has an easy to use zoom mechanism. The other APS features -- drop-in loading, auto-everything, the ability to change film rolls right in the middle of a roll and switch back later -- are also very useful. And it's simple enough for anyone to use. The LCD on the back is very intuitive and after a quick glance at the instructions I could do everything with ease. The buttons here and for taking the pictures are large enough to be used easily, but designed in a way that makes it unlikely you'll hit any of them accidentally. My only knock on the camera is that you can only use the built-in messages (a couple dozen of them) to print on the back of your photos. But this camera has everything you could ask for and more for its low price. It even comes with a lithium battery and a roll of film to get you started!

Crisp and clear - without fear!
The C700 is one of the few Advantix cameras that will allow you to change film mid-roll! It is unbelievable how convenient this is when you want to take a black&white photo but the camera has colour film in it (of course you need to have the black&white roll of film on hand). My poor camera has been kicked, dropped and abused over its life of traveling with me and has never failed; not one crack, not one bad picture, nothing! All of the controls are easy to use and clearly marked.
Another feature that some may enjoy is the "titling" option: It allows you to give each roll an event title which will be printed onto theback of your pictures.
So much for so little - now where is my SLR? It has been awhile.

    Versatile and dependable APS camera
I purchased this camera mainly for the camera size and panoramic feature. The option to switch from C (classic-4x6), H (group-HDTV-4x7) - default size, or P (panoramic-4x11.5) formats at anytime is great. The features are very simple, but this camera packs a lot into its small size. The "flash fill" feature works well. The flash bulb placement seems to reduce the red-eye as advertised. The self-timer has a delay of 10 seconds. Loading and unloading the film cassette couldn't be easier, especially with the mid-roll change feature. You can also view the film speed on the display at a few presses of a button. There are onscreen messages on the LCD display that tell you "FLASH NOT READY" or "MOVE BACK". The frame counter indicates how many exposures you have left.

The date & time imprinting allows you to choose several formats for the date (mm/dd/yy, dd/mm/yy, yy/mm/dd) and time (12 or 24 hour). The nice thing is that it is imprinted on the back of the print instead of the front of the print.

There are two title options: roll and/or print. There are 30 preset titles to choose from. The roll title comes in handy when getting the index print. One thing to keep in mind if you are using the same title for both roll and print (e.g. "Vacation"), then both titles appear on the back of the print (e.g. "Vacation", "Vacation"), which can make it seem redundant.

The mid-roll change (MRC) feature is an added bonus, allowing you to switch between different rolls (e.g. change a paritally exposed roll of 400 speed color film to a roll of 400 speed black & white film or 200 speed color film, then back again). There is a nice safety feature in which the film door locks, so you can't open it until the entire roll has rewound (either by using all exposures or using the mid-roll feature). Although reloading is easy, the downside is waiting for it to advance to the correct location (you can hear it go through one frame at a time until it finds an unexposed frame). However, that is a little sacrifice for the MRC feature.

Overall, this is a great little camera if you want something small, but dependable to carry around. The prints are excellent for a non-SLR camera.

    SHORT LIFE...
I HAVE HAD THIS CAMERA SINCE CHRISTMAS 2001, AND IT WAS WONDERFUL
FOR THE TIME HAD IT, VERY CLEAR PICTURES, GREAT BATTERY LIFE. REALLY GREAT, BUT NOW IT IS NO LONGER UP TO PAR. BUT AT 80 DOLLARS I GUESS NOT MUCH MORE TO EXPECT.

    good camera
I got one of these cameras as a present for my high school graduation, just in time for my senior trip to New York City. It was a great camera that took wonderful pictures; I loved the low-light flash option (when I remembered to use it). Mine was stolen just over a year ago and I've been looking for another but haven't been able to find one until now.

    More experience with my C650
I wrote a review for this camera shortly after I bought it, rating it 4 Stars. Now that I have used the camera for a year or two, I changed my rating to 5 Stars. I am no photo expert or camera buff; I am just a taker of snapshots, but I really like the C650. It is small, easy to load, easy to use, inexpensive to purchase, and I really like the APS format. The negatives are stored in the film cassett, and they can be stored in a book-like holder so that I can easily find the negatives when I want them, and I really like the wide-screen format of the pictures. It proably costs twice as much to use the APS film vs. 35 mm, but I think it's well worth the extra money (how much does one really spend on film & developing anyway?), and though I have a 35mm camera that I bought around the same time as the Kodak, I now use the Kodak exclusively.

This is the only APS camera that I have ever used, and there are probably some that I would like better, but so far I am well pleased. I just hope that the APS format doesn't go the way of the disc camera.

Easy to use - but !!!
This is easy to use with good instructions included. The three size choice of photo is excellent and the quality very good. Unfortunately this camera is very light and has no real "feel" to it. Also, both myself and my parents have had this camera for just over a year and both are now broken. In my opinion the build quality is not as good as it could be.

    Great little camera
I've had this camera for a few months now and I'm very pleased with it. The quality of the pictures is good for such a low price. It's just a fun little camera to mess around with...so get it.
