got it free from the Kodak's camera purchase, but does not mean it's junk, in fact it works still very well, gives full charge and auto shut-off the way it's supposed to be, charges little bit slow (8 hours) but may actually be good for the batteries, too much current too fast will destroy the batteries, one big plus is it take both AA and AAA and it also works 100-240v, some other KODAK chargers don't do that, take care of it (never drop it) and it'll reward many years of good service

To clear up others' reviews:

1) This DOES charge BOTH NiMH and NiCad batteries. Don't believe me? Click on the picture of the charger -- a bigger picture will pop up and you can read the label for yourself.

2) Why would you want this charger? Because it works with both AA and AAA batteries, and because it works with an input voltage of 100 to 240 volts -- Kodak's other charger only works with US current. If you're traveling internationally, you just need to get an adapter so this will physically fit into the socket -- no worries about voltage or Hz.

3) If you're pining for the Kodak K1000, it's been discontinued, but Kodak sells a virtually identical model and it's available here at Amazon. Just type "Kodak charger" into the search box at the top left corner of the screen, and you'll see the new charger. It's the same price as the old charger and has the same features -- I have the old K1000, and I can't tell any difference between the old one and the new one.

So, if you want a charger that charges AAA batteries and/or works internationally, get this one. If you want one that is a little quicker and comes with 4 AA batteries, get the other one.

It really seems to work great after 6 months and many charges. It was a very economical purchase and worked great overseas. Oh yeah, it works with any NiMH. By the way NiMH really lasts longer than regular AAs for my mp3 player. Disposables make zero sense to me.
