I would never buy a nikon again
13 months after I purchased this camera, it froze up.
Would cost $147 to repair. The manuel suggest a new a battery,
which didnt do any good. Camera was never dropped or mis-
handled. When it was working it took great pictures. But 13
    months!!!!

    Fine until the zoom broke
My Nikon Lite Touch 140 was fine until the zoom broke shortly after the 1-year warranty expired. I take care of my camera, so it was not my fault. The $70 bill was disappointing. A little latter the cord snagged a corner and tore open a metal cover, so again I had it repaired at my expense.

    Good Camera
I bought this camera about two years ago whe it was first out .... However the cool design and quality photos have helped me not be upset with the purchase. I drove cross country and backpacked europe and never lost a picture do to the camera. I dropped it once from about four feet onto blacktop and no problems but a little nick and the sand from cannon beach has still not given me problems. This is a very good camera and i would recommend trying nikon out.

    Very fuzzy closeups!!!
I bought this camera for my daughter for her baby shower and am very disappointed. It is not up to par for the Nikon name. Point and shoot quality very nice, BUT any close shots taken were very fuzzy!!! Not good when shooting pictures of a newborn baby! Every roll developed had poor quality pictures of her.

    Update on this camera
Ok, I took this camera to Key West and Mexico and found that the quality of my photos were "OK" meaning they weren't exceptional like my old Nikon Zoom Touch. The pictures weren't as clear as Nikon quality is. Even though I had used the HD Kodak film. I'm still on my regular role of Kodak 400 film, so I will update again. Usually with high end cameras you get high quality photos and crisp pictures but not with Kodak HD film in this camera. The pictures were grainy and not sharp quality, but... it might be the film I used on my trip so you'll have to wait for and update.

    Not Satisfied
My Canon Sure Shot was the best camera I ever had. After a few years, the flash wouldnt recharge. I purchased the Nikon based on the new lenses claiming high clearity. I havent seen the clearity. Delays from the focus feature is another disappointment. If given the choice again, I would purchase the Canon Sure Shot and pay the difference.

    Miserable camera from great manufacturer
I got this for my wife based on my extensive experience with Nikon's pro gear. It is a complete and unmitigated failure. All shots are over-exposed. Lens is not sharp. Tons of flare in adverse lighting situations. You have to teach yourself to hold the camera steady for a good long time to allow the (slower than molasses in January) autofocus to lock onto the subject. Once it is done acquiring what it feels is critical focus it renders perfectly out of focus pictures every time. It appears to focus five feet in front of the object. Close up pictures are off center and the parallax adjust in the viewfinder does not adequately compensate. I own a rangefinder camera so I am aware how to use this feature, it just does not yield accurate results on this camera. This camera is a bad train accident. I had no idea that Nikon was capable of such a travesty. It is not clear how some of the early reviews of this product were positive. Either the reviewers had different samples and Nikon changed their production technique (substituting ED glass with coke bottle bottoms) or the reviewers were paid plants for Nikon USA or they lack any redeeming photographic skill. It is interesting that all recent reviews are abysmal. Nikon really dropped the ball here. The camera didn't have to be great to satisfy me; it simply takes horrible pictures and is in every way unacceptable.

    Disappointed
I bought this camera expecting it to replace an olympus stylus epic zoom 80. The nikon had everything going for it: more zoom, a diopter adjustment for use without glasses, the nikon name, etc. After the first roll of film I discovered many of the pictures were very off center and I often had to press the button several times to get it to take a picture. I thought I could compensate for that with my 10+ years of hobby-photo experience, but after the second roll of film I realized it wasn't worth it. Even zoomed out it seemed that pictures were off center. Several times I missed the perfect picture because the camera didn't take the picture the first time I pressed the button. The graphic quality of the picture may be great but that doesn't make up for the off center composition and missed shots.

    Not Nikon-like Quality
In spite of the ED glass lens, which is supposed to render superior colors, this camera is not any good. It seems unable to focus properly, except for when the infinity focus option is selected. Also, most shots from a couple of test rolls came out overexposed, even under unchallenging lighting conditions. Aesthetics and ergonomics are nice. Controls are intuitive and easy, but what good do they do on a camera that is otherwise useless? Yes, I know it is not an F4 but my advice is to look elsewhere. I thought I was going to replace my Olympus Stylus Epic. No way.

It was not good camera for me
I tried 2 rolls of film (one 400 and another 800 speed) with this camera. I got about 10 good quality picture (not excellent) and others were bellow average. I returned this camera after that.
This camera feels and looks excellent, but I need camera for pictures...

    Good All-Around One-Touch...
I was looking for a good, easy, portable camera for vacations and quick snapshots. I am a proud owner of a Nikon F5, but, this camera is not easy to lug around on oneday vacations or a quick snap. This Nikon, given to me as a Christmas present, and it's a winner. It's small enough to fit in my pocket and takes excellent pictures. I give this camera two thumbs up!!!

        too tight for nikon 5000
This is a nice leather case. The only thing I would complain about is that it's a little bit tight for Nikon 5000. It doesn't fit with the lens cap on.

        Why not leather?
I bought this case for my Nikon Coolpix 4300. It has pleanty of room for the camera and any accessories you might need. Compared to the silver nylon case designed for the coolpix 4300, this leather case is certainly an upgrade from the standard coolpix case. why not pay a couple extra bucks to keep your investment warm and fuzzy? it has a a zippered mesh pocket in the interior and a velcro flap pocket on the exterior. only complaint is that the closure system is a snap lock and not zippered. Buy this case for your nikon coolpix; you won't be disapointed, unless you go for the cheap stuff.

        A MUST HAVE
There is room in a zippered mesh compartment inside the lid for 20 CompactFlash Memmory cards. 3 spare batteries can be stored in the cases front velcro enclosure, plus 1 in the camera, giving the case a capacity of 4 batteries. A Coolpix 5000 fits into the case perfectly snug (facing the lens out and the grip up) with a little space left on top to coil the shoulder strap. The soft and supple black leather case is well padded to protect your loved one.

This little thing is sweet. Very clear optics, easy to read, super accurate, and nice and small for my golf bag. Well worth the money.
