      Ditto
The only thing I can add to the previous review is that the Smartmedia was well packaged. There is a statement with the card that says "The Smartmedia has a limited life span, and will eventually become incapable of performing WRITE/ERASE functions after long-term use. When this happens please replace it with a new one." If this is the case will all Smartmedia cards then what is long-term? I've only has mine about 3 weeks so far.

Might not be worth the price premium
SmartMedia is sold under several brands. Olympus branded SmartMedia allows you to take "panorama" shots. Essentially, you take multiple shots while making sure to overlap edges. You then reassemble these multiple shots using the "Camedia" software that came with your Olympus camera. The difference is that when an Olympus brand SmartMedia card is used, your digital camera keeps exposure settings constant across these multiple shots; which makes for a consistent panorama when you reassemble the individual shots via your computer.

This is a nice feature, but not a feature most of us use often; for example, on a recent two week trip, I took 220 shots of which only 12 were panorama. If you are going to purchase multiple SmartMedia cards, you might be able to do with just one or two Olympus brand cards - especially since they cost more than other brands. I use two other brand SmartMedia cards, and save my Olympus brand cards for when panorama shots present (since you can switch the cards out at anytime - unlike traditional camera film).

Also to realistically determine what the price premium is, check prices for Olympus and other brand SmartMedia not only here, but also at other popular commercial sites.

      Not bad at all !
I was shopping for a little back-up camera to keep in my case with my 35mm SRL and I had not bought a digital pocket camera and wanted to play with it on the computer and I was amazed at what this little cam could do! clear sharp pic's and eazy to use !besides I got a deal in store at target on discount about $45.00 off retail and that makes me even more happy!not a bad camera and what a deal. chaching!!!!!

Good amount of space, reliable construction. Affordable.
If you have an Olympus digital camera, get this chip and replace the puny one that shipped with your camera.

The chip is your basic xD memory chip, but it is well built and it hasn't disappointed me yet. You could always go for a chip with a larger capacity, but do you really need to be able to store over 200 pictures?

Also, included in the packaging is a very handy carrying case (for up to 8 xD chips) that makes it easy, and safe, to carry around your various memory chips.

A Premium Card... well worth the premium price
It didn't take long after I purchased my camera to realize that the included 8MB card was just too small. Was undecided between 64MB and 128MB until I saw the price of this Olympus 64MB at Amazon. I think I'll still get another (few?) 128MB cards from other manufacturers, but this one Olympus 64MB card is just excellent (for panoramas). Don't really mind paying the premium for the panorama capability.

Great Price For This Card - Lots Of Pics
I'm no Ansel Adams - but I wanted a good quality card that was going to last a while. My 8MB was useless for quantity. I bought this 64MB (and another later) and found I could get:

664 SQ (Standard Quality) Photos-good only for web pages
199 HQ (High Quality) Photos-good enoug for small prints
71 SHQ (Super High Quality) Photos-great for good prints up to 5 X 7 inches.

This does not include 'panaramic shots', which take up more memory. I also shopped around and found that Amazon had the best prices. Of course, the 128MB card stores more pics, but the price jump was significant.

Don't worry about 'refurbished' media cards. They are just fine, cheaper and have the same warranty as 'new' cards.

I just shoot my pics and mail them off when I am on vacation. I never have to worry about getting my camera stolen or misplaced and losing my pictures. What else do you need?

Does not work with Olympus C-50
Be warned: this memory card is not compatible with the Olympus C-50 camera. The best you can get in the 128.

      Plenty of Storage
This is a great card if you plan to take many photos. The only caveat is that for use with an Olympus C50 you must get a firmware upgrade which can take up to 10 days and requires you to ship the camera to Olympus.

      perfect
Whats there not to like about this card?? A little pricey maybe, but you wont have to get another one any time soon!!!
