Poor choice for the Powershot S1
While this carrying case might have been designed specifically for the Powershot S1 in mind, it is a VERY poor choice for the following reasons
    - It is difficult to open and close. There is a zippered left and right side which goes down about 2-3 inches. The top flap closes with velcro. It therefore takes three movements to open the bag. An awkward and timeconsuming process.
    - There is no space to keep a spare set of batteries, the minimum accessories a person would want to keep along with their camera. There is an inside pocket for memory cards. But I find that one card is all that fits easily. Any more, and the camera case will bulge.

This is designed for the fashion concious and trendy crowd who want the Canon logo on their camera case. It is not a practical carrying case. The least I would have expected is for Canon to design a concelable strap for this case. Instead, there is a belt loop which is pretty much useless as this camera is a little too bulky for you to put around your belt loop. And it seems certain to distort the shape of your belt. Do think twice about this purchase.

I am still looking for another case for my Powershot S1. I see a Targus Digital Camera Max case for under five bucks on Amazon and think I will get that instead. If you have alternate suggestions, do add them, for the benefit of other folks, right here.

    Alternate to PSC-70
I've heard other negative comments about the size case and found the Tamrac 5693 fits the Canon S1, and looks a lot better.

Don't buy this one unless you want to waste your money!
Go to Wal-mart's electronic dept. to get a better bag for much less. I got a good Samsonite bag (which I love) for under $5.00 for my Canon A80!!! The bag I got had 3 compartments with zipper closures and can hold extra memory cards plus a backup supply of batteries. This case is basically useless unless you just want a Canon bag to go with a Canon camera.

    Could be better
This is a nice case, protects the camera well, but I wish there were a few more features. It has a belt loop, but I think a clip would have been nicer for those days when you don't wear a belt, or if you'd rather clip it to a pocket or something.

Also, the pouch is only big enough to carry 4 extra batteries OR another compactflash card, but not both. I bought a large CF card, so I guess if I ever use the pouch it will be for batteries.

Besides that, the case looks very good and seems to protect the camera well. My Canon A70 camera fits perfectly inside, as expected.

Exceeded my expectations for the price.
I bought this case for my A80. I did not want something that was waterproof, big, fancy or that had a bunch of extra features. I just wanted a simple case that would protect the camera when traveling and storing. It accomplishes these objectives perfectly.

I like the fact that the belt loop is sewed into the case. When I am at a race or amusement park, I want the assurance that there is no way the camera will come off my belt unless it completely breaks.

The inside of the case is soft and the outside is a water repellant-type material with a large velcro "snap".

You can't see it from the picture, but once opened, the case features a web-like pouch for batteries or a CF card. It will not hold both, but all I care about is batteries since I do not carry a spare CF card.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this case for the price I paid for it. It does what I want in an efficient and compact way. I bought it without seeing it in a store. After receiving it, I would have expected this to have cost around 15-20 dollars. I like it. It's just right.

Best case for the S400, so far
I wanted a case for my new S400 that was like the form-fitting leather case that came with my ELPH 2 APS camera. This was the best I could find. The leather is stiffer than the ELPH case, which means it's more bulky in your pocket. However, I think it will probably provide better protection for the LCD than the softer case would. The construction seems to be good and the case is a very good fit for the S400. The velcro closure on my ELPH case worked fine and I anticipate that this will, too. I experimented with using my ELPH case with the S400, and it fits, but I didn't like the overall feel in the softer case since the S400 is quite a bit heavier than the ELPH.

Canon markets this case in a package along with a battery pack and a larger carry-all case. The cost is about the same price as the battery and the small case alone, so if you want both the case and the battery, get the package and you'll get an extra case. The carry-all is big enough for extra batteries, cards, and a lot more, but it's not too huge to be impractical.

Having said that, I still agree with the reviewers who believe that Canon should include a case as part of the equipment that comes standard with the camera.

    Nice camera case
This is a very nice camera case. My S-400 fits in this little case snugly and perfectly. The case is made with pretty good quality leather and c'mon, for about $10, you can't ask for too much more. And for those of you looking for extra pockets and more padding, look into getting a camera bag and forget about this case. For those of you looking for something to protect the camera from scratches, or something with a belt loop, this is the case for you.

Great compact case for a compact camera
This case is perfect for what it was designed for: preventing camera scratches from pocket/backpack/purse/bag storage. It fits any of the Digital Elph series cameras perfectly. If this is what you're looking for, you will not regret this case for a second. It's also sharp looking and perfectly compliments the ultracompact style of the camera.

If you are looking for a case that will protect against severe impact and dropping, you may want to look elsewhere: while it has thusfar prevented any damage from the two or three times I've dropped my camera, I don't like hearing the sound it makes as the leather is still thin and the case is obviously not designed with this sort of protection in mind. The PSC-50 is first about light protection, and second about aesthetics.

If you are looking for a case that has storage room for extra media, extra batteries and other extra nonsense, what were you doing buying the ultracompact Digital Elph in the first place? You could have gotten a better camera for the same amount of money (think Canon S45/S50 or A75/A80: almost identical price, much better features, but bigger size).

Barney the Dinosaur eats your Canon S230
This is an excellent case for the Canon S230. The size is perfect and there is room for an extra battery and compact flash card in the front pocket. The camera with the soft case fits easily in my pants pocket or shirt pocket. Just be prepared for the color--it is purple! I don't know why they made it this color but they did. The case is soft so you can break the camera if you drop it but you won't have to worry about scratching the LCD screen or the lens if the camera is in the case. I would recommend purchasing this case with the camera.

    Wonderful
I just bought the Canon Powershot S330 and the official case works perfectly with it. The size is small just like the camera and the design is slick.

The materials are very durable and the padding will protect the lens and the lcd screen. There's also a pouch on the front where you can store some flash cards and spare batteries. Don't expect to fit anything else into it because it wasn't made to store anything other than what I listed above. This was made to be carried around quickly and easily.

The only bad thing is you can only use this with your belt. There's no strap for your wrists or shoulders so you can't hold it any other way.
Other than that, it's highly recommended if you want a nice small case for the Canon S300/330 series.

    Nice little case
All around nice little case for Canon Digital Elph. Front pouch is just big enough for extra battery and CF card. Loop attaches it to your belt or keeps it from getting dinged in dingbat wife's purse.

it does not fit a G3
As simple as that, if you got a G3 don't buy it, it will not fit. The bottom screw which hold the camera to the case does not aling to the existing threads on the body of the camera. Don't get me wrong here it is a fine product, nice brown leather well crafted, but IT DOES NOT FIT A G-3

    Beware
This leather case is also advertised as being compatible with the Powershot G3, but it is not, it is slightly smaller and the camera doesn't fit.

    Be careful!

    Great Camera Case
This is a great case. I bought this camera case for my G2 thinking it would hold the camera and some "extras". When I got it I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is fitted to the camera. I probably wouldn't have chosen brown leather but now that I have it, I actually prefer it. It is a very rich color, looks great, and fits perfectly. One great advantage is that it is in two parts. The bottom stays on (screws to the bottom of camera)and you just unsnap the top to take photos. The case does not have to come off to attach the power cord or download to computer [unless you need to take the lens cap off.] I also bought a larger case to hold this camera, cords, speedlite, etc. I would recommend that anyone get both the fitted case and a larger case to keep everything together.

It's just not for my style.
When I purchased this Canon case, Amazon did not have a picture available yet. So I gambled.

Here is my personal verdict. The case is made of good leather quality and looks elegant. From distant one might think it is a purse for the ladies. Inside it has two pockets for storage of memory cards and another for a spare battery.

This case lacks a shoulder strap (duh!). To substitute the shoulder strap the wrist strap of the camera (mine is a S-10) is then used when the camera sits tightly in the case and its strap hangs outside at one side of the case. The flap, when closed, leaves its sides uncovered. In my opinion, dirt or water splashes can easily enter here and damage the toy.

I'm looking for a new product.

Does a nice job + good value
Since I was mainly looking for a case to protect my camera from the accidental drops when I'm not taking pictures, I'm pretty happy with my selection. (and I have dropped it from a height of maybe 2-3 feet onto pavement with no harm to my camera.) A couple of details:

    1) The picture on the website seems to be a much darker grey than the actual case. The case seems to be more of a heather grey.

    2) The case has a little zipper in front that it is perfect for storing additional memory cards and battery packs. It's well designed as after you open up the zipper, it has two pouches inside so your memory card/battery fits in snuggly.

    3) The case protects the camera reasonably well. However, on one side of the case, it is open (probably so the camera cord is not covered by the case. This side is held by velcro. Generally pretty good, the velcro sometimes comes apart if not velcroed well.

If you're looking for a case that protects your camera when you're not using it, I would say this case does the job. However, it does not shield the camera (slightly open on one side) and it basically just makes your camera larger (not as easy to put in your pocket yet not so large that you can carry it around your neck, etc.) All in all, if you're looking for a general case, this is probably a pretty good choice.

    A Perfect Little Case
This is a great little case for a great little camera!

If you bought the canon s100, chances are you got it for its amazing balance between small size and big performance. Get the case for the same reason: this case fits the camera snuggly, protecting it without adding much bulk, and has all the features one needs from a camera case.

The case has a front zippered pocket with inside mesh sections for those extra CF cards and batteries. It is made of thick, good quality fabric - it provides good coverage and protection to the camera. I won't have to worry for my camera's safety while carrying it in my purse. The case has a little space on the side of the case to let the wrist strap hang out, making carrying the camera when its in the case a non-issue.

I love this case - its going make it possible for me to bring my digicam along even more of the time. I can't wait!

    solid amateur gear bag
I received my Canon 1EG bag today, and, after packing my gear into it, I had a few thoughts to share. I think that Canon made a mistake by raising expectation about capacity and purpose of this bag.
First, there is no way to fit "two SLR bodies, seven to ten lenses, flashes, etc, etc" into this bag. Let me tell you what I was able to fit into the bag comfortably (i.e., without squeezing anything and being able to retrieve the gear reasonably fast):
    - Canon D10 camera with Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM AF lens,
    - Canon EF 20mm f/2.8 USM AF lens in protective bag,
    - Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM AF lens in protective bag and with hood and mounting ring,
    - Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM AF lens in protective bag,
    - Canon Speedlite 420EX,
    - Small Slave flash,
    - Polaris Flash meter,
    - Quick-release tripod head,
    - Small table-top tripod,
    - batteries, lens-cleaning stuff, remote switch for the SLR and a few other small items.
There was room left for one (maximum two) medium size lenses, and that was it.
Second, as one of the reviewers had commented, this is not a fast bag - all the loops, and velcros, and zippers won't allow you to use it as a piece of professional gear, but it is great for keeping your photo equipment safe and accessible for casual "weekend-shooting" use.
The bag is well-built and well-padded. The only obvious design flaw (for which I give this bag only 4 stars) that I noticed right away was absence of side loops to support the flap when you are using the handle on top of the bag. It causes the weight of the bag to be distributed on the zipper, which, at some point, may break. My bag, by the way, weighed about 15lb with all the aforementioned equipment. If you want to protect the zipper, you should use mostly the shoulder strap.
Overall, this is a good bag, worth the money. If you consider its price and capacity, this bag is well-suited for a serious amateur photographer.

Well made, comfortable, yes. 7 or more lenses, no.
This is a solid bag, well designed and assembled. Very flexible interior comparment components. Easy to access external pockets with solid zipper action. Quick release clips for main flap are secure but easy to open and close with one hand. Strap is comfortable and configured in a way that keeps the bag upright when open, even while you wear it. The bottom is rugged - I'm always confident that my gear is well protected. Details like zipper pulls, contoured shoulder pad, and handle grip are not overlooked.

However, I'm not sure what lenses they had in mind when they rated the capacity. I carry a single body, three zoom lenses (with hoods reversed), a flash, a doubler, and a few accessories on the inside. Granted, one of them is a fairly large 70-200 2.8 with tripod ring on. I can't imagine putting much more in unless I was going to pack it for long-term storage.

The outside pockets are very useful and make extra batteries, memory cards (film), filters, and other accessories easy to access without compromising security. There are also two handy removeable zipper pouches that attach to the inside top with velcro.

Plenty of bag for me. For situations where you want to carry a similar set of gear, it could be a great bag for you.

    A truly professional bag.
I received this bag as a gift. I have two camera bodies and several lens and other accessories. The bag holds quite a bit. However it is kind of difficult to carry more than one camera body without compromising room for other accessories. The bag is more than enoough for those serious photographers with one camera and accessories. However, if you have more than one camera it is more difficult to carry other accessories. The bag is tough and durable and not too overwhelming. Overall a great bag for the serious photographer.
