Close-up lenses are no substitute for macro accessories such as a bellows unit and extension ring, but they do allow you to take close-up shots covering a subject field with the area of half a postcard, taken at a range of down to around 25cm, with a standard lens. Their main advantage They do not block any light, so they only alter the reproduction ratio and greatly increase the working range of standard and telephoto lenses. For reasons of quality, stopping down to at least f/8 is recommended

This filter is great for portraits. It is a warm, tannish-orangish color that enhances Caucasian skin tones. Flashes can sometimes wash out skin tones, as can too much sunlight, and this replaces or maintains a warm glow. Also nice when used in conjunction with a blurring filter (diffuser) which hides tiny imperfections and softens the whole look.

This can also be used with landscapes to create a different mood, to warm up an Autumn or desert scene for instance. I have used Cokin filters for years and find they are a great way to add a personal touch, a surreal look or a more professional finish to your photographs.

Just to warn potencial buyers, this item's description is in error! According to Cokin, the equivalents Cokin/ISO of the Blue series is: 020/80A, 021/80B, 022/80C (holds for both A and P series). Thus, this item should be titled: "... Filter A021 80B (blue)A020" Hope this note is usefull!

a $2000 car for $175! We use FILTERS as an CREATIVE FUN -- not
spending THOUSANDS for something HOPING the picture will be 50
times better! Buy a COMPLETE set of COKINs that --YOU-- like and
YOU WILL NEVER BE SORRY! And YOU can --switch-- to LARGER LENSES with just an ... ADAPTOR! I use THE SAME COKINs for 52mm as my 62mm lens! Investigate AMAZON and COKIN and SAVE yourself a TON!

Catch a glimpse of the past. Recapture the Sepia tones that give old pictures that special charm. Just photograph your subject in color with the Sepia filter. Or copy a black-and-white print. This filter will yield a pleasant Antique effect when combined with a soft-focus attachment like the Diffuser (083 and 084) or the Cokin Dreams (091, 092, 093) or Pastel filters (086 and 087). The Cokin 045 Sepialight is also a sepia filter but the effect is not as strong.

Helpful hints : When you have color negatives printed, be sure to tell the lab that the sepia tone is intentional This filter can be used with most other Cokin Filters, with the exception of color filters.
