Catch a glimpse of the past. Recapture the Sepia tones that give old pictures that special charm. Just photograph your subject in color with the Sepia filter. Or copy a black-and-white print. This filter will yield a pleasant Antique effect when combined with a soft-focus attachment like the Diffuser (083 and 084) or the Cokin Dreams (091, 092, 093) or Pastel filters (086 and 087). The Cokin 005 Sepialight is also a sepia filter but the effect is stronger.

Helpful hints : When you have color negatives printed, be sure to tell the lab that the sepia tone is intentional This filter can be used with most other Cokin Filters, with the exception of color filters.

Add warmth to light and a pleasant tan to your photo. In general, they suppress blue casts on overcast days and on subjects lit by blue sky. These filters correspond to the Wratten Series 81 (81 A, B, C) and complement the Cokin blue filters (023, 024, and 025) which create cooler or bluer tones.

Helpful hints : Do not combine these with other color filters as this will destroy the subtle effects. But you can combine them with optical effects filters, including Pastels, Dreams, Star, Speed, etc.

Using tungsten film in daylight will produce a bluish cast in the photograph. The 85 series will produce natural colors when shooting with tungsten film outdoors. A #85 filter will decrease the color temperature from 5500K to 3400K and produce slightly cooler results than an 85B. This filter measures 66 X 72mm and fits the Cokin A series holder.
