    To costly...
Check out the Ridata 512MB card - faster performance for half the price...

    Excellent Card
Lexar makes reliable cards that professionals swear by, not at. The 12X card is faster than the regular cards, but keep in mind that it isn't actually 12 times faster -- the 12X rating is based on CD-ROM transfer rates. These cards work great in my Canon A70, and general compatibility for Lexar seems to be good.

      This is really a 128MB x 2 memory stick
Don't be fooled by the picture. Even though the "128x2" logo is not shown, this is really a Memory Stick that has 2 partitions of 128MB. You have to flip a little switch to go between the 2 partitions. To get a true 256MB Memory Stick with contiguous memory, you'll need to look at the "Memory Stick Pro" models.

      Right Amount of Storage!
This is the perfect size compact flash card! On standard resolution I can take about 125 photos....I can also take lots and lots of video clips. I am very impressed w/ Lexar's quality, and would buy from them again!

      Problem Free for 2 Months
I've had both of my Lexar 256MB 12x CF cards for 2 months now and all is swell. I find these cards to be very reliable.

      My Usage:
      - Nikon Coolpix 4500 (4MP)
      - Audiovox Maestro (PocketPC 2002)

I've taken close to a thousand shots since then and I have not had any problems. I haven't noticed any write speed issues at all, being that I know my camera is slow at writing the huge file size.

I've transferred the photos via a CF usb reader & a cable hooked up directly to the camera. No problems; I just do a quick format of the card after I finish transferring the pics to the pc.

I've put games, MP3s, WMAs, and other files onto them for use in my handheld and I'm pleased as can be.

It comes down to peace of mind and I have not had any worries, thank goodness!

Very reliable, never lost a picture or file...
I've been using this card for over a year now and I am still very happy. I purchased this Lexar product for my new digital camera (Canon PowerShot S45) after doing a lot of reading and research into what I should buy. It seemed that many consumers where complaining about other brands - lost pictures, write errors, etc. - except for Lexar where reviews were consistently good. I use the card in my camera and sometimes transfer data between my work computer and home. I so far (knock on wood) have never lost a picture or file, after taking over 1600 pictures and video clips and transferred hundreds of files of varying sizes.
I highly recommend this Lexar CF card.

      No problems!
I've been using this card with a Canon S400 camera for about four months now, taken 500+ pictures and transferred them to my computer. I've had absolutely no problems with the card, and it seems to write and erase as quickly as I could want. For me this was an excellent intersection of size and price; a capacity of roughly 125 photos at full four-megapixel resolution is plenty even for my most intensive day of photography, and this won't break the bank. I'm certainly disposed to buy Lexar stuff again in the future.

      plenty fast and good compatibility
this is my first 256mb cf card. seat-o-the-pants-meter says it's at least as fast, if not a little faster, than the generic 128mb and 64mb cards i have used before (all 4x). compatibility is good, it worked in both my camera (said it would on the lexar webpage, nice compatibility list there) and pda (not on the lexar page)...

i kind of like to see a lifetime warranty on these kind of things, but 5 years probably constitutes a lifetime for this technology so i'm not overly worried about that...

throw in the rebate and u get name brand for generic price...

      such a deal...

      works great
fast, reliable. What else do you want?

Cheap, fast and too much of it
How can you go wrong with spending [money] and getting 256M? You can't. I bought the iPAQ and I wanted to transfer my files to a flash, so I don't have to carry my computer all day. IT worked. I have all of my documents and files on a single flash. I sync once or twice a week and I am ready to go. If you are on the road like I am, this flash is the best. It's cheap and with 256M, you can have everything transferred to it.

      Rebate not granted as advertised
I have the same experience as the above reviewer. I sent in all the required stuff for a $25 rebate but got rejected. I don't see this card faster than the one come with my Canon digital camera. (...)

      Much Faster
I just received this card and popped it into my Nikon Coolpix 3100. It definitely takes pictures much faster, which was one of the few complaints I had with this camera, the lag between pushing the shutter and getting the shot. If this continues to work as well as it has today, it was worth the few extra dollars.

      Don't Forget The JumpShot
I just bought this so I don't have any performance feedback just yet, but...

They neglect to mention that a JumpShot media reader ships with this card. A nice surprise. Also included is card recovery/unerase/secure erase/test software (disk images on Card for MacOSX and for Windoze) called Image Rescue.

      Never recieved it
I ordered it for $59.99, even paid for the expedited service, but two days later it was canceled. Not sure why. After reading another review it seems the price was incorrect. I thought it was too good to be true!

I have not a clue on its performance.

False price - $59.99 with Office Depot
I tried to purchase this Lexar 256 MB SD memory card in mid-May for $59.99 through Office Depot/Amazon. However, a day after I received my confirmation e-mail, I suddenly received a cancellation e-mail with no explanation. I called Office Depot & found out that an incorrect price was advertised, so my order was cancelled. Now a day later, both Internet sites still have the incorrect price of $59.99. The lady I spoke with at Office Depot said that the actual price was $75 ... so beware if you think you're getting a good buy!

      Can't go wrong...
...with this SD card. I had recently bought 2 digital cameras for an upcoming trip to the UK and needed more memory of course. I'm an EE so I started comparing specs. (with a bias towards low price). Here's the skinny:
The Lexar 32x 256MB was $60, the 32x 512MB was $170. The big brands were more yet. The best compramise in MB/$ came in at 256MB. Another issue with the bigger cards is getting over-invested in your photo storage media. If you get a 1 gig card, sure you can load it with 750 high-res pictures, enough for your whole 2 weeks just clicking away. What then if the (one) card gets lost, squished, or just craps out? The whole trip of memories gone forever! The most I was willing to risk was about 256Mb - maybe one fourth of the trip, and with both my wife and myself shooting similar pics on 2 cameras- further risk reduction.

The card... works like a charm. I've tried all 4 I bought in both cameras - all worked perfect (practiced over 100 pics getting the hang ov camera features so far). I have 2 different readers (the Kodak 6in1 reader and the little $15 Lexar USB pod) and they both read and write perfectly. I get about 5 MB/s transfer (rough estimate) to 2 different PCs (work and home), and also use the cards to transfer general data.

Best bang for the buck of all the SD cards available right now!
