Ok, next time I'm buying a faster cardI chose a 256MB card since the Canon takes up about 2MB PER Picture on best quality and size settings ( total about 120 odd-pics). Lower quality( picture compression) or pic size gives me much more images. I can record about 700 odd seconds of video on the card @ 320*240 15fps settings. I definitely recommend this card size as one if you plan to buy a 3MP+ camera. Since the price difference is reducing every day, it makes more sense to opt of a 256Mb instead of a 128MB card. FOr 5MP and above, however, a 512MB+ card may be better suited.
The card is very reliable. I've been using it for 3 months+ and have taken 500+ photos on it. However, the speed at which the card writes the image is a bit too slow for my liking ( or maybe its the camera?). Next time i'm going in for a faster card , maybe from the Sandisk ULTRA II series....
Best value for money of any CF card...Pros:
* Durable and exceptionally reliable - Sandisk does without a doubt have the most reliable CF cards on the market.
* This card is due to its reliability and price, without a doubt the best value for money of any CF card on the market today.
Cons:
* Molasses in winter pretty much describes the speed of this card. Seriously though, tests show that unless you're transferring files to your computer via a USB 2.0 interface, the read/write speed between the camera and the CF card does not nearly exploit the potential of any good card. There might be a 20-30% difference between a fast and a slow card when it comes to in-camera read/writes.
This card is extremely reliable, and looking at reliability+price (you can get really good deals on this card) vs. speed, I'd say this is the best value for money of any CF card on the market today. I give it an unconditional 5 stars!!!

Very Fast... But Not always Dependable.I use this product with my digital camera.
When using a digital camera, you may find that if you turn your camera off (while it is writing memory to the card; just after a photo being shot) you'll find that you may get fumbled results when trying to read the card later.
Granted this does not ruin the card, rather it ruins the data on the card. Formatting it resolves this issue, (but again, you may not want this to happen when taking wedding pictures!)
You may find other parallel problems such as:
1.Switching Modes (on the camera) just after taking a photo...
2.Opening the "flash card" door when camera is on...
3.Turning the camera off when its doing something with the card (ie: writing memory) as stated above.
4.Low Battery might cause inconsistent results in data.
I might say though, that when i did have my "run-in" with one of these problems i contacted the company who manufacured the product, and they were very helpful. They had me send them the card, and they recovered all the images i originally lost. (i ended up only loosing one of the photos, the one which i was wrong to manage the camera incorrectly).
Something i might say (that gives this product 3 stars) is that the data transfer rate is faster than any other means i've ever seen. Data is dragged and dropped easily and effectively (through a USB adapter).
Good to use with Axim X5The operating system, when reading the size of the card, reports a slightly different capacity than what is listed on the card's label
Definitions of a Megabyte:
1) Operating Systems commonly define a Megabyte (MB) as: 2 to the 20th power (1,024KB--Kilobytes).
2) DiskDrive and Flash Memory Card Manufacturers commonly define a MB as one million bytes (exactly 1,000,000 bytes).
Unformatted (Capacity)
Also known as drive byte capacity before formatting. The Maximum capacity of disk drive before formatting equals
[ (# Cylinders) X (# Heads) X (# Sectors) X (# Bytes per Track) ]
Example:
64MB CompactFlash Card consists of:
490 Cylinders
8 Heads
32 Sectors
512 Bytes per Track
This equates to: [ (490) X (8) X (32) X (512) ] = 64,225,280
Unformatted Capacity: 64,225,280 bytes
Formatted Capacity: 63,934,464 bytes (User Data)
Cause:
Disk Drive Companies such as SanDisk define 1 MEGABYTE as 1,000,000
BYTES. Operating Systems define 1 MEGABYTE as 1,048,576 BYTES (1024K X 1024K or 2 to the 20th power).
Example:
SanDisk 64MB CompactFlash Card being read by Microsoft Operating
System.
SanDisk Total Formatted Capacity divided by 1 MB (as defined by the Operating System) equates to the following:
63,934,464 BYTES / 1,048,576 BYTES = 60,972,656 BYTES, 60.9MB displayed by OS.
Outstanding reliability ...Pros:
* Durable and extremely reliable - Sandisk is without a doubt the most reliable brand on the market for CF cards.
* Can be found very reasonably priced - usually very good value for money.
Cons:
* Just about the slowest CF card on the market.
Personally, I'm all about reliability. I wouldn't trade my Sandisk cards for any other card, even if the price was lower or performance higher. A card that corrupts your pictures even on rare occations is a useless card in my mind. This or any other of my Sandisk CF cards have never given me any problems. I also have several friends that have used Sandisk CF cards for several years, and between us we've never had any problems with any of our Sandisk CF cards.
I would highly recommend this card, and despite its speed, I would say it's a good buy. Because of its outstanding reliability, I give it 5 stars!!!

Bad batchI exchanged this item for a new one, which had EXACTLY the same troubles. I am not sure if this was a bad batch, or if 1GB disks are not sophisticated enough yet. Again, I have used other type I/II cards without any problems whatsoever.
Yep..It's slow
It shouldn't matter
- Fast read and write to a CompactFlash card from any PC Card slot
- Works like a removable hard drive on any computer or notebook with a PC Card slot
- Protective stainless steel cover--rugged and reliable
- Full compatibility with all CompactFlash Cards

It worksThe reason I give this item only four stars is because I need to physically remove the adapter card from my computer whenever I want to change to a different CompactFlash card. It would have been nice if SanDisk had either provided an ejection mechanism or maybe just make the CF slot a little shallower so that I could grip the CF card to pull it out.
However, that's a minor inconvenience. It works 100%.
Real plug and play readerI usually keeps it plugged in the laptop, and take a backup for my critical files on it. With a 512 MB card, it really takes a lot, and provides me with peace of mind with an online , reliable and fast backup.
With technology, the storage capacity doubles every 12 months , and the MB/$ drops by half every 9 month. Soon, you will be able to buy a 10 GB compact flash card for the price of 512 MB nowadays. And, still , you will use the same reader !!

Great, Reliable CF CardI couldn't find any differences between the different CF cards that are available from other manufacturers; except for the capacity of the memory. All the CF cards available are the same except for the cost.
Best thing to do is shop around for the best deal/service. Living in Canada, I could only compare with Kodak, Sandisk and Lexar CF cards.
Sandisk was by far the cheapest compared to the other brands.
So far I have taken over 400 shots with no problems. I am quite satisfied and pleased with this CF card's performance.
The best way to go in Digital Photography!
It works.It works.

slow, slow, slowOn my Lexar 32x card: 27 seconds
On my Viking 256 card: 34 seconds
On my Sandisk 512 card: 45 seconds
Thats quite a difference if you want to take rapid photos. On a single shot basis, my camera has a big enough buffer that I do not notice.
Not the fastest, but definitely the most reliable...I have a couple of other regular Sandisk cards, which I'm also very pleased with, although they're very slow. This card was a very pleasant improvement over the regular SanDisk cards with regards to speed. There's even a kinda chic look to it in my mind. The card is reasonably fast, although not impressively fast. It should do well for most users though.
I've so far taken several thousand pictures with it, with my Canon Powershot S200 and my Canon PowerShot G5 camera. Not even once have I had an image corruption or any other type of problem. It always comes through for me. I also have several friends that have used this card, there among one professional photographer. None of them have ever had any problems either, and they all swear by Sandisk cards for one simple reason - they are the most reliable CF cards around.
Pros:
* Durable and EXTREMELY reliable
* Good capacity
Cons:
* Not all that fast - I'd say middle of the road. It seems to be about 2-3 times faster than a regular Sandisk card though.
I mean - what good is it if you've got the fastest card in the world, but you keep losing pictures? That won't happen with this card.
Based on that, I would highly recommend this product (and any other Sandisk CF card for that matter).
Great Performance, Fantastic PriceThe new Ultra IIs have just been released and might be worth the upgrade, but my camera buffers just fine and I can shoot in single-shot mode with *very* little lag between shots. I've purchased SanDisk's CF I/II card reader to complement and this is an amatuer photographer's dream setup. By the way, my camera says it can take 157 shots with this card at the Fine JPEG/largest size. Highly recommended!
