    decent cheap camera
640x480 can do alot. Wish I could add memory. Wish it worked on Linux or Macintosh. Closeups work well. It's also fast. You can take about 1-2 pictures a second for capturing some action. 640x480, gotta be close. Also small enough to carry everywhere.

    Good Animation Cam
I wanted to do a claymation video, and on TV anything more than 640x480 is wasted. This camera has a feature that no other one in its class can match: a macro setting for extreme close ups. It has a standard tripod screw mount on the bottom.

The only drawback is the interface. You address this little beast as a TWAIN device, like a scanner. That limits the software than can read from it, and the included software is only OK.

    Good value for money.
I wanted a digital camera, but I wasn't in a position to fork over several hundred dollars. I compromised and bought the StyleCam so I could learn more about digital photography and editing. It doubles as a webcam, and can also shoot AVI movies 60 seconds in length at 3 frames per second.

The camera is a little smaller than a deck of playing cards. It comes with a black pouch that you can attach to your belt, stand, USB cable, Maxell batteries, software CD, instruction booklet, and a small wrist strap. Even if you can't get the strap around your wrist, it's good to wrap around a couple of fingers when you're operating the camera one-handed so you don't drop it. It just barely goes over my hand and my glove size is mens medium.

Picture quality is fair, but you can use the software to make adjustments and improve the pic. Indoor photography was better than I expected even with no flash. I got some very crisp pictures inside a shopping mall, and some okay pics inside my apartment which was only lit by one 60 watt bulb directed at the subject. Daytime outdoor shots are pretty good, but you have to be facing away from the sun or you will get glare. At night, you've got to be in a somewhat well lit area to get a pic, like on a street with lots of street lamps.

The camera has only two buttons, so it's pretty easy to use. It beeps every time you take a picture (even when shooting an AVI) which can get annoying, especially if you're trying to take someone's picture without them noticing you. It has a delay-timer function so you can set it and get in the shot. The software has some neat tools for manipulating and enhancing photos that I've seen on much more expensive programs. They seem to have thought out the package really well. There is even a PDF version of the manual on the CD in case you lose the instruction booklet.

Unlike most digicams, this one isn't a battery hog. That's because there is no LCD screen and no flash. When hooked to your computer, the camera draws power directly from the USB port. It can hold about 60 VGA or 180 CIF pictures before the memory is full. There is no removable memory, and you continue to use battery power while the camera is storing photos, even if the camera is off. If the batteries run out you'll lose your pictures, but the camera will hold your pictures for a few seconds while you are changing batteries. I tested it by taking out the batteries for 30 seconds. My pics were still there.

0.3 megapixels is VGA quality or about 1/10th the size of a picture taken by a "good" camera. With only 0.3 megapixels you're not going to get print-quality pictures. But at less than 1/10th the cost of a "good" camera, this is a great first camera if you just want to post some pics on your website or ebay or just play around. I think it will do nicely until I can get the camera I really want next year.

No luck with the camera and the company
I received this camera as a Christmas gift. The batteries actually pop out of the camera without warning. The driver software is defective. I have gotten the software to work one time. I contacted the company about the problems with the camera and software. I have yet to get a reply or any assitance of any kind. My advice is to let that camera decorate the shelf on the shop where they sell them.

Maybe I just got a lemon, but ...
I got this camera as a Christmas gift for my daughter. It was used once and downloaded (25) pictures OK. Afterwards, the original batteries (4x AA's) were toast. I went out and purchased rechargeable batteries and a charger. I implanted the 4 newly charged batteries, but the camera would not come to life. The only signs of life was the ready indicator light was on and, every 30 seconds, the LCD display would flash on and fade off. I performed CPR by swapping memory cards and batteries, to no avail. I pronounced it dead. An e-mail to tech support confirmed my diagnosis.
Unfortunate, because the pictures were nice quality and the camera seemed to have all the bells and whistles that many of the "brand name" models boasted in the 2 megapixel range ... and at almost 1/2 the price. This company's website is loaded with helpful tips and FAQ's and the tech support replied within 24 hrs which surprised me because it was New Years Day. The company seems to be doing all the right things, but the product failed.

    Good Photo's, Horrible Design
One of the first things I noticed when I bought this camera was the battery cover. Every time I would put batteries in they would fall out. I sent it back to Sipix and they told me it was defective. I exchanged it for a new one, the same exact kind, and it had the same exact problem. It's also very large and heavy. On the other hand, it takes excellent pictures. Hard to believe it's just 2.1 Mega Pixal. If you want a good bargain on a digital camera and don't mind taping the battery cover shut, this would be a good choice.

    Great performance considering price
I have had canon and sony, and yes they are way better... but you also pay 5 times more! You can find this camera at such low prices as this one here in amazon and I can assure you that the camera works just fine if you are not an artist or a professional photographer... if you are... then go with a name brand, if you want it for your family pictures, your online business or just for fun stop looking, this has everything you need: Menory expansion, Built-in Flash, 2.1 MP (very nice), 1.8" preview screen, TV-OUT, USB, what else are you looking for?? this is it. The real choice. Don't go daydreaming with sth you can't really afford...

    excellent cost/benefit
This full-featured 2.1MP digital camera provides excellent quality pictures at a very affordable price. Features include TV output, thumbnail view, adjustable white balance, exposure and sharpness controls; items usually don't available in most similar-price cameras. It's as easy to use as the most simple point-and-shoot 35mm cameras. The camera comes with an 8Mb Commpact Flash card, however it's a good idea to buy a larger one (in my opinion, a 64Mb card is usually more than enough...).

      Garbage
I have never in my life struggled so much to operate a digital camera. I have some experience in hooking digicams up, but this was the absolute worst. The instruction manual is terrible, this thing has horrible battery life, and the picture quality is unacceptable. Spare yourself the trouble and don't get this camera. This was just another corporate screw-up.

      SIPIX SP1300 Digital Camera
the first one i ever saw, was good, a bit flimsy but good
took decent pictures, will only buy to save money
preferably buy a more expensive one , unless you want just a plain decent picture

      Great camera for smaller budget
Takes good quality pictures comparable to more expensive models. Has 2x digital zoom (as a selectable menu option), not to be confused with optical zoom which is much better. If you need real zoom choose another model. Uses Compact Flash cards which are very popular and thus less expensive than other types. I recommend canon cameras, they are more professional.
