Print quality is good. But the cables come with printer can only connect to Canon digital cameras (I tried poershot and EOS 10D), it cannot connect to PC UBS ports, though it looks like UBS connector. So, there is no way you can print a picture to cp-x00 from a PC.
Anybody there know a way to print from a PC?

I have been very pleased with this printer. So long as your resolution is set very high on your camera your pictures will be as good as lab quality!

The only downside is it does not come with a disk to run this printer with your computer or the cable needed. You have to buy it directly from Cannon. Also I have had a few pictures come out with very faint lines or dots.

I would purchase this printer again if I had to make the decision for a second time.

This is an excellent little printer. The quality of the images produced is great. Just as good as traditional film developed photos. It's easy to setup & use either directly from my camcorder or via my computers(with the appropriate accessory CCK-CP200). This is my first experience with a dye sublimation printer & I can tell you the quality of the images produced far surpasses most inkjet printers. The only drawbacks about this printer is it only prints small sizes 4 x 6's & Wallet size 2 x 3's. There is a 3.5" x 5" size but its only available overseas. The paper/ink packs are not easy to find other than online & their not cheap. 36 - 4" x 6" prints will run about [money], Wallets about [money]. Overall however this is a great printer which I enjoy using.

This would be a fine printer. It produces lovely prints. The problem? For reasons I cannot fathom, CANON HAS DECIDED *NOT* TO RELEASE A WINDOWS XP DRIVER!! Now that I've upgraded my PC to XP, my Canon is a paperweight.

I own a CD-300. The quality of the prints is quite good -- indistinguishable from a regular 35mm print. However, as another reviewer has stated, avoid this printer. Canon has announced that it will not develop a Windows XP printer driver for the CD-300. To add insult to injury, Canon announced today that it is producing a new 4x6 dye-sub printer, the CP-100, which I have no doubt will be XP-compatible.

I have this printer and love it. Or used to love it. I just got a new computer which runs Windows XP. You cannot use this printer with a new computer because Canon has arbitrarily decided not to release printer drivers. Their nonsensical stated reason is that the printer does not support USB (universal serial bus). Windows XP could support this printer. It recognizes the printer as new hardware over the parallel printer bus and asks for a driver. Since Canon has decided not to support Canon products there is no usable driver. Canon has only released Windows 95/98 drivers.

Do not buy this printer unless you are willing to keep around a Windows 98 computer with which to use it.

Just get a power inverter (~35-45$) and use the included battery charger. Then you can also use the inverter to power a laptop or a drill or something useful.

On the surface, this charger appears to be nicely made and convenient for auto use, just a bit pricey. Unfortunately and do to design, the charing unit does not securely hold the battery inplace. I've found that the battery slips out too easly, and can and does get ejected out of the charger if you hit a firm bump on the road. It's something you will want to keep an eye one. Got to where I needed the camera today, and again I found the battery on the floor of my truck.

I picked up this car charger when I purchased my Canon PowerShot S500. At first I didn't think it would get much use and that I'd been pressured by the sales guy into purchasing it. But the charger has proven itself very useful and perfect for road trips.

It is super easy to use, you just plug it in to your cigarette lighter and away it goes. The lights work just like on the regular charger, so when the light turns green, you know you are good to go.

As for quality, this car charger isn't of any lesser quality than the regular plug into the wall one that comes with the camera. It is just as durable and it is definitely worth the price if you are on the road with any frequency. It is a little on the larger side, so it may not fit nicely in your glovebox.

All in all, this is a gem!

I bought this battery to have as a backup for the identical one that came with my Canon Powershot G5. The battery is fabulous. I've always been very displeased with the shooting capacity of digital cameras in general - they would run out of battery in a very short time. This battery was one of the deciding factors for me buying a Canon Powershot G5. According to a test on dpreview, it's the best performing battery (when used in the G3) out there for any digital camera (at the time of testing).

I've taken a few thousand pictures with it so far, and I'm very pleased. When using the LCD display for a mix of movies and pictures (on my G5), I get around 600 pictures out of one fully charged battery. I've never completely "emptied" the battery with the LCD screen off (preview only), but based on my experience so far, I would think that you'll get somewhere between 600-1000 pictures out of one fully charged battery - maybe more - when the LCD is not on all the time. If you take a lot of pictures (I can easily take 500 on a weekend trip), I would still recommend buying an extra battery though. I'm panicked about ever running out of battery (or memory) while I'm shooting.

Should you buy a cheaper non-Canon brand equivalent battery? I've not tried an equivalent for the BP-511, but I've got a DigiPower equivalent for my Canon Powershot S200 (Elph II), and it's crap. I would never buy and equivalent for my G5 camera, because in my experience, it's quite apparent that you get what you pay for.

Pros:
* Extremely good capacity - 500-1000 pictures on one charge with normal use.
* Charges relatively quick in my G5 - about 90 minutes

Cons:
* Very heavy. It'll weigh down your camera, but for the capacity it provides, I personally think it's worth it.

Conclusion: It's a very good battery - capacity is fabulous. I've had no problems with it - it doesn't overheat, it doesn't stop working, and so far after about 6 months of operation, I've noticed no drop in capacity. I give it an unconditional 5 stars!!!

I love the BP-511 batteries with my Canon G2. I bought 2 extras for my China trip 2.5 years ago and was amazed that a single battery went a day and a half with heavy shooting. Never had to change within a day.

Now, 2.5 years later, the batteries have shorter lifespans. Reading the rest of the comments, I understand that they are "old." And it appears I've violated the "do not store fully charged" instruction. Oh well, I'll just buy a couple more!

Love the Canon Camera as well.

This battery lasts for a full day of shooting. This was one of the main things I liked about the Canon G1. Other cameras go through disposable batteries about every 30 shots or so.
